Cuzco Region January 2006

Rob went to the Inca capital Cuzco in the mountains, acclimatizing to the altitude a couple of days before heading out on the Inca Trail, while Helena stayed in Lima. Besides visiting churches and colonial buildings in town, Rob spent a day walking by foot to Sacsayhuaman, then by horse to Puca Pucara, Tambo Machayo, Templo de la Luna, and Qengo. Manuel was the guide; the horse's name was Jiron Sol. Hotel Ruinas on Calle Ruinas No 472 is beautiful and very close to the main plaza.
