Sanborn and Savannah-Channelle August 21, 2003

The hike up the Sanborn Trail at Sanborn County Park was not very long - a couple of miles - but it was relentlessly uphill for an elevation gain of a little over 1000 feet. We went down pretty much the same trail on the way back. It was shady all the way, much appreciated. Far up the trail we saw grape vines, signs of an abandoned winery.

Afterwards the Guadeloupe Group of the Loma Prieta Chapter of the Sierra Club had a gourmet picnic at the nearby beautiful Savannah-Channelle Winery. We tried a few of the Winery's offerings - Pinot Noir, Pinot Blanc, Chardonnay, and Rose.
